Power Kerub Sign Element
Know Man Aquarius Air

I found this and much much more info at http://www.hermetic.com/osiris/onthepowersofthesphinx1.htm

i believe that the four words of the magus are Air, Earth, Fire, and Water.

To attain such an achievement it is necessary to KNOW what has to be done, to WILL what is required, to DARE what must be attempted and to KEEP SILENT with discernment.

To Know, to Will, to Dare, to Keep Silent.

Here is the extended version.

To attain such an achievement it is necessary to KNOW what has to be done, to WILL what is required, to DARE what must be attempted and to KEEP SILENT with discernment.

Aleister Crowley - The Baphomet

Eliphas Levi, Author of Transcendental magic, wrote about a group of Knights Templar who were rumored to worship a diety called Baphomet. This is also an alias of Aleister Crowley.

I found this information here http://www.templarhistory.com/levi.html

The Gravity of Coming Events

We went back to the site and took a closer look at the code, ran a who is, and watched the video again. We didn't find anything new and the who is could not be run on an ip address which is probably why they did not purchase or reveal the domain name.

One thing I did look at again is the line on the last page where you enter in your email address.

"Do not under~estimate the gravity of coming events"

This sounds like it could be a clue and what I find strange is that the sentence is a .jpg not text. I checked google images to see if there was a clue there but found nothing. There was nothing special about the URL of the image either. I also ran the sentence in google search but found nothing. We might want to keep this sentence in mind though as we try to solve the other clues.

I also think there may be more of a significance to the ip address. it may have a double meaning. 94.236.57.221 Could it be another clue. I'm thinking

New Clue! Transcendental Magic

Ahah! I put some of the clues from the riddle into Google and came up with a link to Google Books.

This brings up page 30 of a book called

Transcendental Magic: Its Doctrine and Ritual

By Éliphas Lévi, Arthur Edward Waite

Ok I got a couple of words wrong in the riddle. The riddle should now read.

'To attain the sanctum regnum, in other words, the knowledge and power of the magi, there are four
indispensable conditions. An intelligence illuminated by study, an intrepidity which nothing can check,
a will which nothing can break, and a discretion which nothing can corrupt, and nothing intoxicate.
To know, to dare, to will, to keep silent. Such are the four words of the magus.'

The rest of the paragraph should read, 'Inscribed upon the four symbolic forms of the sphinx.
These four words can be combined after four manners, and explained four times by another.'

There is more listed before it and you should click on the link above to read the rest.

I suspect that this is a major clue because in 'google books', they are displaying scanned copies of the
book, not text. So if Google is displaying scanned copies of the pages of the book then how is it that a
search came up to exactly page 30 of the book, when there was no searchable text. Gotcha Google!

I also did a search for Eliphas Levi and found this in Wikipedia. click here

Eliphas Lévi, born Alphonse Louis Constant, (February 8, 1810 - May 31, 1875) was a French

occult author and magician.

"Eliphas Lévi," the name under which he published his books, was his attempt to translate or

transliterate his given names "Alphonse Louis" into Hebrew.

Click here for Wikipedia's page on Arthur Edward Waite.

Arthur Edward Waite (October 2, 1857May 19, 1942) was a scholarly mystic who wrote extensively

on occult and esoteric matters, and was the co-creator of the Rider-Waite Tarotdeck. As his biographer,

R.A. Gilbert described him, "Waite's name hassurvived because he was the first to attempt a systematic

study of thehistory of western occultism — viewed as a spiritual tradition ratherthan as aspects of

proto-science or as the pathology of religion."

What does it all mean? Well we will let you know what we find and you let us know what you find.

First link in the puzzle

On Thursday August 20, 2009 Warner Bros. launched their viral campaign for their new movie Sherlock Holmes. Sending out the first clues to entertainment websites. These clues which are unimportant at this point led to an ip address at 94.236.57.221. On the site there were 5 empty boxes which would hold 1 character each. This was a password which would lead to another clue. Some found the clue by the original clues that were sent out. We actually found the clue by viewing the source code of the site. The code to access the clue is IRENE for 'Rachel McAdams' character in the new Sherlock Holmes movie 'Irene Adler'.

Once you type in the code you see a hooded mysterious figure who seems to leave a riddle. We have transcribed what the mysterious figure says below.

'To obtain the sanctum (regnum), in other words the knowledge and power of the makers, there are four indispensable conditions. An intelligence illuminated by study, an intrepidity which nothing can (chip), a will which nothing can break, and a discretion which nothing can corrupt, and nothing intoxicate. To know, to dare, to will, to keep silent. Such are the four words of the makers.'

This seems to be a riddle. We should point out that the word 'regnum' may not be spelled correctly and the word 'chip' may be mistranslated.

Once the figure is through speaking a form comes up and asks for your birth year and your email address. This could be that they intend to send a clue via email. We entered our email and have yet to recieve anything.

We've set this site up as a way to share information about the clues in hopes of solving the puzzle. We will be giving updates to the clues we find or hear about and we appreciate anyone who wants to offer ideas about helping to solve the puzzle.

It is unclear if Warner Bros. has anything special waiting for the person who reaches the end of the puzzle at this time.

We hope you all enjoy the adventure as much as we are. Happy posting.

The Riddle

Ok we have examined the riddle somewhat and we think we may have a few clues. Here again is the riddle.

'Regnum' as defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary means 'Kingdom'. It's a Latin word.

'Sanctum', another Latin word means : a sacred place, or  : a place where one is free from intrusion <an editor's sanctum> <the inner sanctums of research>

We take this to mean Sacred Kingdom so the first line of the riddle seems to indicate that they are trying to find a sacred kingdom or well a place where the knowledge and power of the makers are stored.

The next line, 'there are four indispensable conditions'. This could be 4 things, keys, or words as is suggested in the final line of the riddle. We believe they are words.

So the four words seem to be the solution to these lines (an intelligence illuminated by study), (an intrepidity which nothing can chip), (a will which nothing can break), (a discretion which nothing can corrupt, and nothing intoxicate). Again we are unsure on the word 'chip' it might actually be 'check'.

After that there is another statement ' To know, to dare, to will, to keep silent'. It's possible these are additional clues to solving the 4 words.

We are going to post what we think may be the words for each sentence.

an intelligence illuminated by study = I believe this means 'Science'
(anintrepidity which nothing can chip) = not sure but intrepidity means resolute fearlessness, fortitude, or endurance
(a will which nothing can break) = might be gravity
(a discretion which nothing can corrupt, and nothing intoxicate) =
not sure
